When I first started baking, I was a total disaster. If I didn’t have brownie batter on the curtains, my homemade cinnamon bread was doubling as a door stopper somewhere. My mother loves to tell people about the time she came home from work and could tell that I put the beaters in the mixer the wrong way because she could hear them clunking against the metal bowl from the driveway. Luckily, all of my mishaps gave me some wisdom, and I’m no longer the laughingstock of the kitchen.
One thing many of my mishaps had in common was that I was not using the right tools for the job. I actually attempted to use plastic salad tongs to take fries out of a pan full of hot grease one time. R.I.P. salad tongs; you served me well. When baking cakes, cookies, pies, and other desserts, the right tools make all of the difference. That’s why I decided to write reviews of my favorite cake decorating supplies – I know how hard it is to start baking and have no idea how to do even the easiest things. Having the right supplies is a step in the right direction.
When I got serious about cooking and baking, I learned a lot of new things by reading how-to articles and watching YouTube videos. I found that the best way to learn new skills was to get information from people who had actually done the tasks I wanted to master. Unfortunately, I came across a lot of spam sites that had reviews of cake decorating supplies written by people who clearly never used those tools. That is why every review I write is about a product I have used myself. I won’t promise that my results are always perfect, but I can promise that I will only be recommending products that work as advertised. I’ll also do my best to recommend inexpensive alternatives to some products, as I know not everyone wants to spend a fortune on cake decorating supplies if they are not sure if the hobby is something they will stick with for a long time.
I’ll be publishing reviews of cake pans, muffin tins, blenders, mixers, icing tips, cake decorating supplies, and other related products at least once per week, so add this page to your bookmarks and come back for free recipes, baking and decorating tips, and other tips for making life in the kitchen a lot easier. Thanks for visiting!
